A carefully sited 150 MWac Solar project with the option for 50 MWac BESS, which will be built on private land in Southern Minnesota.

Northern Crescent Solar will encompass approximately 1,270 acres on rural lands and generate tax revenue for 35+ years.

Northern Crescent Solar will generate up to 150 MWac, which is enough clean, reliable energy to power approximately 35,000 homes annually. The potential addition of a battery energy storage system (BESS) would provide a consistent, dispatchable energy resource designed to support Minnesota’s peak energy demands

Project Overview

The project benefits

At Primergy, we develop solar projects with communities at the center, prioritizing local partnerships, environmental stewardship, and long-term impact. Our approach provides energy solutions that respect the land, empower people, and create sustainable value.

Environment and Local Impact

35,000
HOMES

Northern Crescent Solar will be constructed on approximately 1,200 acres of rural lands with low-impact solar installation, generating tax revenues through production for an estimated 30+ years. The property owners will maintain ownership of the land and receive lease payments during the project’s lifetime.

Enough reliable energy to power approximately 35,000 homes annually.

Primergy is committed to enhancing Minnesota’s energy grid with local projects such as Northern Crescent Solar. Primergy is collaborating with local farmers on ways to implement agrivoltaics, and the project will include pollinator-friendly vegetation.

Job Creation

200
JOBS

Northern Crescent Solar will bring up to 200 jobs to Faribault County during peak construction periods and full-time jobs to support the ongoing operations and maintenance of the project.
