Primergy develops, builds, and operates energy storage solutions across North America, with a current portfolio that includes well over 3,000 megawatt hours of projects under long-term revenue contracts. We invest in stand-alone battery storage as well as sites that are co-located with our solar projects in both regulated and deregulated markets.
Our goal is to invest in the best energy storage technology and solutions that improve the reliability and efficiency of renewable energy for our customers.
We determine viable project sites by looking for areas with demand for flexible renewable energy. We choose energy storage projects that provide the most value. This means we may seek storage projects that allow utilities to provide consumers with energy when solar isn’t producing, or projects that allow utilities to backfill generation from coal or gas plants.
Next, we review selected sites for environmental, engineering, and construction suitability to make sure we are advancing projects that will ultimately be cost effective and successful.
We finalize agreements with customers for the various energy products that will be produced by the project. Each facility is custom designed to optimize the overall asset, incorporate customized control schemes and dispatch decision-making, and benefit-sharing between all parties to align needs, benefits, and risks.
After ensuring that we can mitigate any potential barriers to advancing a well-sited project and engaging stakeholders, we finalize land agreements with interested landowners and complete any permitting and environmental review requirements.
Primergy designs, procures equipment, constructs and installs the project.
After construction, we will provide full asset management services, including operating the project to meet our customer’s needs and adhering to prudent industry practices. A storage project may require periodic augmentation to meet capacity requirements and take advantage of emerging technology.
